Billy D. Burrows, 90, formerly of Rockbridge, IL died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehab Center, Jerseyville, IL.

He was born August 23, 1928 to Paul W. and Sarah (Schaaf) Burrows. He married Wanda L. Kirby October 14, 1951, in Greenfield and she preceded him in death April 3, 1999.

Surviving is a daughter, Beth Ann(Dan) Pruitt of Carlinville, IL; a son, Mike (Joy) Burrows of Rockbridge, IL;five grandchildren Daniel, Abbigayle, and Andrew Pruitt, and Krista and Michaela Burrows, and a great-grandson, Myles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Doris Gibberson and June Meuth, two brothers, identical twin Bobby D. Burrows and Richard Burrows.

Mr. Burrows was a United States Naval veteran serving his country during the Korean War aboard the USS Princeton CV37. He had 33 years of service with the McDonald-Douglas Aircraft Company retiring August 31, 1990. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Witt cemetery near Rockbridge, IL with full military rites provided by the Tri-County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the Witt Cemetery.
