He retired from AM General as Quality Control Inspector, having worked there for over 30 years. He was a former employee of Studebaker Corp. and was a member of the Local UAW #5.
Ronald was married Feb. 12, 1972 in Elkhart, to Eva Darlene (Field) Dawson and she passed March 11, 2012. Surviving are sons, Scott (Jennifer) Dawson of Niles and Ron and Rod Dawson of Clarksville, TN. There are three grandchildren, Mya Dawson, Macy Dawson, and Max Dawson. He also has several nieces and nephews.
Family who preceded him in passing are his wife, Eva; his parents; his sisters, Doris Green and Shirley Whetstone; and his brothers, Kenneth Dawson, Richard Dawson, and Paul Dawson.
Ron was an avid basketball nut and enjoyed going to breakfast with his school friends and spending time with his best friends, Jack and Todd Horvath.
Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation or services.
