Pamela Sue Murphy, age 79 of North Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Fort Myers Rehabilitation and Health Care following a lengthy struggle with Dementia.

She was born November 26, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Chester “Pete” and Mildred (Hennegan) Wolf.

She was a 1957 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and later attended Butler University for one year. Pam married Jerry G. Murphy on October 25, 1959 and they shared over 56 years of marriage together until his passing in 2016. Pam worked with her parents in the operation of Wolf’s Motor Court, an Elwood motel located on State Road 37 that Pete and Millie Wolf opened in 1946. She also previously worked for the Indiana-Michigan Light Company. Pam was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority and served as chapter president. She and Jerry raised quarter horses and were members of the Indiana Quarter Horse Association. Pam served as executive secretary and treasurer of the organization from 1968 to 1981.

Pam and Jerry enjoyed operating a food truck for several years, going to local fairs, festivals, and the Church of God Camp Meetings. After retirement, Pam and Jerry moved to North Ft. Myers, Florida where they enjoyed many years with their friends and neighbors at Buccaneer Estates. She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers where she served as an usher and participated in several ministries within the church. Pam was always a very friendly person who never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face, especially when she was with Jerry.
