Jackie Gene Hayes, age 77, of Lentner, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 near his residence.
Jackie was born on June 29, 1941, in, Lentner, Missouri, the son of Jack C. and Mary Eunice (Schaffer) Hayes. He was united in marriage to E. Lorraine Galvin on July 28, 1972 in Shelbina, Missouri. She survives.
He is also survived by his children, Mary Kay Beckman of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark Hayes (Cindy) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Carol White (John) of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Kelly Fry (Heather) of Clarence, Missouri, and Troy Fry (Paula) of Macon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Greg and Emily Beckman, Cody and Clayton Hayes, Alison Williams, Kaleigh Cunningham, Jordyn Meeker, and Meade Fry; six great grandchildren, Cody Hayes Jr., Jacksen and Emma Williams, and Hudson, Ellie, and Everleigh Cunnningham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister, Grace Hayes.
Jackie was a member to the Shelbina First Christian Church and the Saddle Club in Paris, Missouri. He enjoyed riding horses and going on trail rides. The trail rides also allowed Jackie to cook for several people, which he enjoyed. Jackie was recently honored from the Cross Country Trail Ride organization with a belt buckle for attending the past 46 years. He also enjoyed deer camp with the family, country music, western movies, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially when attending their ballgames.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11 am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
