Agnes Carmela Millspaugh, age 96, of Elwood, passed away peacefully at Riverwalk Village on Friday, January 20, 2023, with her daughter Virginia, son-in-law Ken Hofer, and long-time friend Joni Cleaver by her side.

Agnes was born December 14, 1926, in Elwood, the daughter of William and Mildred Boyer.

She was married to Raymond Crouse from 1946-1955. Together they had three children, Bonnie (Crouse) Browning, Sheila (Crouse) Kay, and Larry Crouse.

Agnes later married David "Barney" Millspaugh on May 26, 1953, and had one daughter Virginia (Millspaugh) Hofer, and stepdaughter, Carol (Millspaugh) Phillips. Agnes and Barney shared 27 years of marriage together until his death in January 1986.

Agnes was a long-time resident of Elwood, Indiana. She worked thirty-five years for Guide Lamp, and intermittently worked for the Dime Store and Excelo in Elwood during the layoffs from GM. Agnes retired in 1988. Agnes was known for being highly active for her age and drove her car well into her 90's. For decades she was an avid bowler and was also an avid traveler. She loved cruises, going on over 30 in her lifetime; she would also travel with the AARP Travel Club and took numerous memorable trips with family and friends. Agnes loved black coffee, going to lunch on Wednesdays "with the girls," and enjoyed keeping her yard in perfect shape with the real and fake flowers. Agnes was known for having cement ducks dressed for all of the holidays and a few outfits for the times in between holidays. Agnes also loved spending time at her place on Hill Lake with family and friends.

Agnes is survived by four children, Bonnie R. Browning of Elwood, Sheila A. Kay of Killeen, TX, Larry T. (Linda) Crouse of Alexandria, and Virginia (Kenneth) Hofer of Fishers. 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
