Born in Dillon County, May 4, 1912, he was the son of the late Dudley Ivey and Jeannette Ivey. He was a member of the Dillon Church of God, and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva R. Ivey of Dillon; daughters Faye Ivey Scott of Dillon and Pat Bryant of Ft. Mill, SC; son, Harry W. Ivey of Rock Hill; sister, Fonda Hamilton of Florence; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
