Funeral Service with burial at Greer Cemetary in Lawrence County.

Visitation is Tuesday, January 15 from 5:00-9:00 pm at Riverwood Family.




Mr. Mitchel Lane Greer, 86, passed away at his home on January 14, 2019.

He was born December 6, 1932, to the late Ben Theodore and Etha Boyd Greer in Jayess.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church

and was retired, having worked as a machinist for Croft Metals.

He loved quail and deer hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He also enjoyed working

at his daughter's greenhouse business. He had a wonderful sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew him.


Preceding him in death are his parents; and brother, Murray Glen Greer.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Eunice Alexander Greer;

daughters, Wanda Powell and husband Charlie, and Michele Plunkett and husband Thomas;

grandson, Aaron Plunkett and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family thanks his devoted caregivers; Brenda Graves, Evelyn Smith, Tanya Foster, Darla Nash, Nikki Dearing and the wonderful staff of Hospice Compassus.
