DIED
BOETTCHER--Mildred (Mrs. Mark A.) Boettcher, 84, of Columbus, died Monday at Cozad Community Hospital in Cozad.
Funeral services are Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Federated Church in Columbus with Rev. Dorsie Ivy officiating. Burial is in the Columbus Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. The casket will be closed at the church.
Mrs. Boettcher was born Dec. 20, 1903 in Columbus, the daughter of Wilbur F. and Louisa (Schram) Jessup. Her mother died when she was born and she was raised by an aunt and uncle, Charles W. and Emma (Schram) Jens.
She graduated from Columbus schools and married Mark A. "Bid" Boettcher on March 12, 1924 in Columbus.
She was a lifetime resident of Columbus. She was the secretary for Rev. F. E. Wales of the Federated Church in Columbus. She was a Girl Scout leader, a presbyterian and elder at the Federated Church, she served on the Spiritual Life board and Memorial and Altar committee. She taught Sunday school and was an active member of the Women's Fellowship. She received a certificate of award from the Women's Fellowship for outstanding Christian service.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Dr. Frederick) Hecox of Cozad; one son, Mark A. of Columbus; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three half-brothers, Raymond Jessup of Honolulu, Hawaii and Harold and Howard Jessup of Clearwater Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark A. May 25, 1953, one sister, three foster sisters and one foster brother.
Memorial may be directed to the Federated Church.
