Eutawville - Funeral services for M. M. "Tommy" Owens were held today at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill, with burial in Barnwell Memory Gardens at Barnwell. Mr. Owens, 67, died Wednesday. Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Milledge Aiken and Edna Collins Owens. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a Mason, a York Rite Shriner and past president of the Edisto Shrine Club. He was also a member of the VFW and the Woodmen of the World. Mr. Owens was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired sales representative of B.P. Oil Corp., and was also retired from Cement Transport. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Susan Canaday of St. George; six sisters, Mrs. T. J. Croft of Blackville, Mrs. Russell Boyd of Holly Hill, Mrs. J. C. Johnson and Mrs. John K. Smith of Columbia and Mrs. Lucius Beasley and Mrs. James Birt of Barnwell; and a brother, Sonny Owens of Blackville.
