She was born in Jane Lew, WV, on December 19, 1939, to the late Thomas Brent and Malone (Bostic) Woofter.
Carol was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother.
She was an honor graduate of Jane Lew High School and a graduate of the WV Business College.
She was employed at Hope Gas, YMCA, WV Department of Motor Vehicles and the WV Division of Rehabilitation Services.
She was a member of the Stealey United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed travel, reading and bowling.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, James L. McClain; two children, Greg Langford and daughter-in-law, Karen and Marcia Stanton and son-in-law, Dave; six grandchildren, David Stanton and spouse, Katie, Michael Stanton, Matthew Stanton, Daniel Stanton, Brittany Wehler and spouse, Steven and Tyler Fortney and spouse, Carissa; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Bernard McWhorter; father-in-law, James R. McClain; brothers-in-law, Timothy McClain, and spouse, Jill, and Philip McClain and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edward Langford; her father, Thomas Woofter; her mother, Malone Woofter; nephew, Kevin McWhorter; mother-in-law, Loretta McClain, brothers-in-law, Mark McClain and Jeff McClain.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019, with Pastor Michael Burge officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Jane Lew.
Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is handling the cremation services and is honored to assist the McClain family.
