Matthew Douglas McKnight
Louisville - 35, passed away peacefully with his family around him on Friday, January 11, 2019.
He was a graduate of Doss High School, he completed a 5 year program to become a Master Electrician by trade and he was a very skilled wood craftsman. His smile could light up a room.
He is survived by his parents, Terry & Dora McKnight of Louisville.
He is also survived by his beloved brother, Chris McKnight (Lauren) and his three much loved children, Montana McKnight, MaKaylee McKnight and Teagan McKnight; and a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, the Smith Brothers, Chauncy and special friends Matthew loved. Our special appreciation goes out to Laura Jones of the Brown Cancer Center for all that she has been to the family. Much deserved recognition goes out to our Hosparus Team and Hildegard House for all you do. For all those who supported us, baked cookies or prayed for or with our family we are truly grateful, you are the angels that walk among us.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 2 pm - 8 pm at Newcomer, Cremations, Funerals and Receptions East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). A service to honor the life of Matthew will be held on Friday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Holly Cemetery, (800 Mt Holly Rd, Fairdale, KY, 40118).
