Sylvia began her career in the West Virginia University Extension Office for 4H. She later worked in the office for the President of the university and was Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Dean of the School of Medicine. After moving to New Orleans, she became the Assistant to the Vice President of Finance at the Tulane School of Medicine where she retired.
Preceded in death by her “Mom” and “Pop”, Willie G. and Ethelda J. Marstiller; siblings, Brady Marstiller, Lucy “Toots” Moore, Donnie B. Marstiller, and Frank E. Marstiller; Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Carl; daughter, Deborah (Tom Lindsay) Sterling; grandsons, Braden Powell and Holden Powell; special “granddaughter”, Carly Pearce; sister, Norma Jean “Jeannie” (Charlie “Carm”) Massanopoli; brother, Robert (Johnene) Marstiller; nieces, nephews, dear friends and previous med students.
Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 18 at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, West Virginia 26501 where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19. Interment to follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
Friends may visit 3 - 6 p.m. Sunday, January 27 at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio 43147.
