My grandmother, Mirtie Ellsworth Ewing was born in Buford, Georgia in 1877. She was born to Charles Dilmus Mary(Mollie)Elizabeth Bryant Ewing. She walked behind a wagontrain from Georgia to Texas with her family as a child.
She married James Thomas Blancett 8/5/1893 in Lexington, Oklahoma and had 8 children, Nota Bene,James Earnest,Thomas Joseph,Neva,Carl,Mirtie Emma,Jesse Sidney and Ethel.
She was an avid gardener and also did laundry at home for other people as a living.
She loved family and children and grew the most unusual plants and foods in her garden. She always greeted me with a big hug.
She died at age 87 in Pittsburg Kansas after suffering a stroke.
