Marjorie F. Harris, 81. of Marietta, OH passed away on January 10th, 2019 surrounded by her family at Harmar Place in Marietta following an extended illness.

Marjorie was born on March 27, 1937 in Archers Fork, OH to the late John and Alma Patterson Harris.

She was a 1955 graduate of Marietta High School. She was well known in the community as a popular waitress at the New Mecca Cafe and as the manager of the Dollar General Store on Putnam Street.

Marjorie enjoyed reading, playing Bingo at the O'Neil Center, spending time with her family, and feeding any cats who showed up on her doorstep.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Melissa Armann and her husband Elwin; her granddaughter, Ali; her companion for over 20 years, David Bradley; her sister Carmen Lauer and her husband Dave; her nieces and nephew Joy Anderson Merchant, Michael Durham, and Rebecca Garrison, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley, Blaine, Dean, Larry and Donald; her sister Pauline Beaver and her sisters-in-law Mary and Mollie Harris, who were her close friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Harmar Place and to extend a special thank you to Jill Scott and Barbara Mugrage, who took especially good care of Marjorie and the family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St. Marietta.

Burial will follow in Tunnel Cemetery in Marietta.
