Mr. Gilbert was born October 6, 1969 in Ville Platte, LA and passed from this life on January 11, 2019 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 49. He enjoyed western movies, fishing, singing, Saints football and playing the guitar. He also loved to write songs and poetry. He was the kindest, most giving person and literally would give the shirt off of his own back. He was a loving son, father, and brother and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Effie Deville, and Clayton and Rosalee Gilbert; and his step-father, Martin Aday.
Survivors include his children, Kevin Lane Gilbert, Jr. of Arkansas, Samuel Roy Gilbert, Alice Marie Gilbert and Allison Faye Gilbert, all of West Monroe; his mother, Alice Aday of West Monroe; his father, Joe Gilbert of West Monroe; his brothers, Joseph William Gilbert, Jr. and wife, Billie Jean of Turkey Creek, LA and Christopher Sterling Gilbert of West Monroe; special nephew, Harrison Sterling Gilbert of West Monroe; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
