Steve was a loving husband, a doting father, a playful grandfather, a faithful friend and a man of wisdom. Above all else, he loved and honored God, which was evident in the way he lived. He faithfully served in his church communities over the years as a member, elder and leader. Steve embraced life and treasured the little moments, especially with his family. He was never afraid of a new adventure, was quick with a witty joke, a wry smile, and a big hug. He was always available to oversee or assist in furniture assembly, make others feel important through his efforts, and could say a million things all in one look. He is cherished and loved by many and those who knew him will treasure the memories and be grateful for the time they had.

Stephen is survived by his wife Judy Shaw of 50 years; daughter and son-in-law Denise and Rhett Barnard and grandson Shaw, and daughter and son-in-law Leanne and Jeremy Leifheit and grandsons, Gavin, Jacob, and John; his sister Sheryl Schaeffer; his brother Tony Shaw, and many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations to Samaritan’s Purse

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Arden First Baptist Church with a reception to follow.
