Mrs. Henderson was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Adams County, the daughter of Julius Hoskins and Rosie Murphy Hoskins.

She was a lifelong member of Daughter of Zion Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board as president and was vice president of the Willing Workers Club. Mrs. Henderson organized the Daughter of Zion Education Scholarship Fund.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam Walter Henderson; four sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Straus and husband, Bob, of Natchez; one son, Willie Hoskins and wife, Martha, of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, John M. Hoskins Sr. of Moss Point and Charles Hoskins and wife, Rosie, of Natchez; one sister, Crista McClure of Saginaw, Mich.; six grandchildren, Andrea Hoskins-Gilbert and husband, Kevin, of Ridgeland, Tamika Hoskins-Inniss of Missouri City, Texas, Karen Manuel, Kymon G. Hoskins and Kywana Hoskins, all of Fort Worth, and Myron Franklin and wife, Eileen, of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 great-grandchildren; three godchildren, Keith Haywood of Memphis, Tenn., Demetris Chatman of Matteson, Ill., and Catrice Hawkins of Natchez; six sisters-in-law, Johnnie Hoskins of South Carolina, Josephine Blackwell and Ella Henderson, both of Natchez, Bessie Jo Cain of Junction City, Kansas, Marquirete Ringgold of Las Vegas and Betty Byrd of Santa Monica, ACalif.; and two brothers-in-law, Martin Henderson and Bowser Ware Sr., both of Natchez.
