George Frithiof Grimes passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the age of 61 following a long battle with chronic heart failure.

George was born on June 8, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to the late David and Suzanne Olander Grimes. He is survived by wife Barbara, his children Sarah (Brian) Stair, Jacob Grimes, and Joseph Grimes, his grandchildren Owen and Aubrey Stair, his brother David (Tanya) Grimes of New Orleans, Louisiana and his sister Susan Grimes Sweetland of Montecito, California, as well as many other family members and friends whom he cherished deeply.

George was a proud alumnus of both Palisades High School (class of 1975) and Yale College (class of 1979), where he gained many faithful friends with whom he remained close until his death. After graduating from Yale, George moved back to California, where his three children were born. In 1996, he and his family moved to St. Louis, where he and Barbara continued to raise their children. George worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. Upon retirement, he traveled and spent time with many valuable friends across the country and with his grandchildren, who he adored. He also served special needs children in various public schools in the St. Louis area.

George will be remembered as a proud, hard-working, and generous father, boisterous story-teller, and faithful friend to many.
