Helen Ruth Combs Waldo, 77, of Sherwood went to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 8, 2019. She was born May 10, 1941 in England, Arkansas to the late Harlan and Zady Freeman Combs.

Helen had retired from Factory Showcase, which originally started as Fan World of Arkansas and then Factory First, after 20 plus years of employment. She volunteered her time to Fishnet Missions in Jacksonville and was a member of New Life Church where she led praise and worship. Later in life Norman and Helen changed their membership to First North Little Rock Assembly of God.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Waldo Rolett (Dan) of Maumelle; her son Scot Waldo (Michelle) of Sherwood; her grandchildren, Kassia Sherrill (Steven), Darek DeLeon (Kassey), Victoria and Daniel Wilson; great-grandchildren: Hunter and Taylor Sherrill, Allister, Mellory, and Peyton DeLeon and Paul Farmer; her siblings Minnie Andrews of Maumelle, Louise Thompson (Bill) of Texas and Jim Combs (Becke) of North Little Rock and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends that will miss her.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Norman Robert Waldo, her parents and her sister, Betty Poppy.

Memorials may be made to the local chapter of Alzheimer’s Arkansas or to Baptist Health Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., January 12, 2019, at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107, Sherwood) with visitation from 1:00-2:00 prior to service. Entombment will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
