Donna Jean Carroll, 65, died on July 16, 2015, while battling a terminal illness.
She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, and received the honor of Cum Laude when graduating from Middle Tennessee State University. She had an abundance of love for her animals and never turned one away. She gave so much more than she ever received. She was truly a blessing to her family and friends and will be forever missed by all those that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Andrew Peters, III, and husband, Richard W. Mays.
Survivors include her mother, Roselyn A. Peters; brother, John Andrew Peters IV (wife, Patti Ashley); sister, JoAnn Marie Wallace-Stephens (husband, Wayne Stephens); nephews: John Andrew “Andy” Peters, V (wife Hannah Peters); Anthony Wallace (wife, Ashley McKenzie Wallace); Lee Peters, Josh Wallace; niece, Alexis “Oodie” Wallace; great-nieces, Lanie and Linden Peters; great-nephew, Lawson Peters, and Pippa.
A memorial service will be held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Devotion at 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343 on Saturday, July 25, at 11 a.m.
