Jerry Bernard Hamilton of Weatherford TX, died at his home surrounded by his family on December 26th 2018, at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with brain Cancer.
Jerry was born in Quitaque TX on August 14th, 1936. He was a passionate horseman and rancher, with a love of the cowboy way of life that he lived and wrote about as an accomplished cowboy poet. He loved to fly his planes, he achieved his instructor rating and worked as a pipeline pilot in his younger years as well as a private pilot. He rode bulls and calf roped and became an avid team roper.
Jerry served his country in the U.S. Navy, then went on to become a New Mexico State Trooper, and Range Rider for the U.S. Government. Despite all his many accomplishments and being a jack-of-all-trades what he was most proud of, was being a loving Husband, Father, Granddad and Papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bryon Kerr and Winnie Hamilton, and brother Kenneth Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Hamilton of Weatherford TX.
Daughter, Kelly Chavez of Capitan NM. Son, Rusty Hamilton and wife Maria of Capitan NM. Daughter, Sandy Sorrells and husband Dewayne Morris of Weatherford TX. Son, Scott Sorrells and wife Heather of Weatherford TX.
Granddaughter, Lindsey Meairs and husband Jake of Claunch NM, Grandsons Colten Sorrells of Weatherford TX and Scout Hamilton of Capitan NM, Granddaughter Mariah Sorrells of Weatherford TX, and Sister, Margaret Meeks of FT Worth TX.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 12th 2019, at 2pm at the Parker County Sheriff Posse. 2251 Mineral Wells Hwy, Weatherford TX 76088
