Larry Richard Hoover, 72, Conway, Arkansas passed away on January 7, 2019. He was born Richard Lawrence (later changed to Larry R. Hoover) to the late Paul Richard Hoover and Annie Peacock Hoover in Dermott, Arkansas on May 19, 1946.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Annie Hoover and sister Pauline (Daugherty) Brady.

Larry is survived by his son L. Wayne Hoover (Stefanie), his grandchildren: Brittany Hoover and great grandchild Eden, Brett Hoover, Greg Hoover, and Payton Hoover; sister Gay Nelle (Rabb) Griffith, his wife of many years Jane Hoover and her sons David and Steve, David’s children, Brandy, Dylan, and Dakota; Steve's children, Halle and Tayla; and many nephews, nieces, friends, horses and dogs.

Larry made a profession of faith when he was 11 years old at a revival service in Collins, Arkansas under the preaching of the late Brother Jack Ferguson and was baptized in Mr. Harris Jordan’s pond. He then joined Cominto Baptist Church.

Larry joined the Army and served during the Vietnam War, worked at Caterpillar in Aurora, IL until his retirement, then just because he was bored at home, he worked many years at the Conway, Arkansas Wal Mart.

His love of the outdoors led to many an adventure on his beloved tractors, he could do anything with them, including getting the tractor stuck in the creek….many times – “just trying to do something”. He was a master at rigging things to work. No vehicle could ever die on his watch, he could fix anything. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

A memorial service will be at Bishop Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas on Wednesday January 9th at 2:00 PM. A follow up graveside service at Mount Tabor in Monticello, Arkansas, is TBD.
