Candie Belinda Smith passed away at the age of 54, on April 25th, in her home in Aurora, Colorado. Candie was born on January 21, 1964, in Los Angeles, CA. Candie graduated from Edgewood High School in 1982, in West Covina, CA, where - at 5'1" - she lettered in Varsity basketball. In her early life Candie worked as a machinist - a trade she learned from her father. She later went to DeVry Institute of Technology, in Ontario, CA, where she received her Bachelor's of Science in Telecommunications Management. Her new career began at Apollo in Denver, Colorado. Not happy to stay stagnate, Candie moved up throughout her career, working at Wild Blue, and most recently Direct TV. On July 20, 2002, Candie married Robert Christensen. Candie loved and immensely enjoyed being a mom and a grandma. In her free time Candie loved spending time with her family and her friends, going to concerts, watching sports, and riding her motorcycle. Candie is survived by her husband, Robert Edward Christensen of Aurora, CO; her children Brandy Cherisse and her husband Cory Joseph Hopper, Shalako Dominique and her husband Jeremy Ray Miksza, and Aerial Tantrum and her husband Jeffrey Alexander Schultz, all of Aurora, CO; her grandchildren Logan Isaiah, Dylan Andrew, and Jaelyn Rylie; her mother Shirley Mae (Vredenburg) Smith; brothers and sisters Paul Clayton Smith III, Danny Boyd Smith, Timothy Joe Smith, Randy Bart Smith, Kimberly Ann Smith, Dean Lamar Grant, Stacy Lane (Grant) Richardson, stephanie Nadine (Grant) Hale, and Kerry Lynn (Grant) Bradford. She is preceded in death by her father Paul Clayton Smith Jr., and her brother Toby Vance Smith. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 11:00 am at All Saints Lutheran Church (15625 E Iliff Ave. Aurora, CO 80013), led by Pastor John Petty. Following the service, at 1:00 pm, a celebration of Candie's life will be held at her home (6012 S Salida Ct. Aurora, CO 80016), for those interested in joining the family. In lieu of flowers, Candie's family is requesting donations be made to Harmony Foundation.
