Mr. Dean Phillips of Medina, age 88, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 11 A.M. with Bro. Frank Bowling officiating. Interment will follow at Centerville Cemetery near Medina with U.S. Army Military Honors.

Mr. Phillips was born in Cleveland, TN to the late Perry Clifton and Clear Ivie Humbard Phillips. He attended the local schools in Cleveland before moving to Chicago to work as a welder at Page Engineering. Dean enlisted in the Army and served in Korea before returning to Page where he retired as a foreman. Mr. Dean then moved to Medina, TN to enjoy his retirement of tinkering, porch rocking, and especially woodworking. He was an active member of Medina First Baptist Church.

Mr Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Virgie Elizabeth Phillips then Vema Edith Phillips; brothers C. L. Phillips and Homer Phillips; and sister Josephine Leek.
He is survived by his sons Barry Phillips and Perry (Carol) Phillips; daughters Jane (Tony) Arevalo, Kathy Sturgess, and Marci Pilz; thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
