She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Among her affiliations were the Deaconess Board, Women's Usher Board, Active Women of Zion and assisted with the office staff. She was an I. C. Norcom High School graduate, Class of 1966.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 41 years G. W. Thompson, a daughter, Joy Alexis Thompson, a son, Brandon H. Thompson (Madeline), a sister, Alethia Bryce, 2 grandchildren, Dallas and Darryn, brother-in-law, Bruce Posey (Eleanor), nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral service Thursday, February 27, 11 a.m. Zion Baptist Church by Dr. Kelvin Turner. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday February 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham Street, Portsmouth, VA. Memorial donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. There will be no public viewing.
