Clyde Freeman, age 94 of Jackson, passed away on January 7, 2019 at Jackson General Hospital.

He was born in Hardin County, TN to Henry and Ola Story Freeman. He was a retired welder/pipefitter for more than 40 years and retired from Local 407 in Jackson, TN.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman his whole life and even held the Tennessee State Record Black Crappie from 1985 to 2018. Mr. Freeman loved gardening and planted over 250 rose bushes in his yard in memory of his late wife, Alta Gray Freeman.

Mr. Freeman is survived by a son, David Freeman (Melanie) of Pensacola, FL; two granddaughters Deborah Dai Ranberger of Jackson, TN and Amy Elizabeth Mallette (Joe) of Gibson, TN; five grandchildren, Brandon Lee Mooney (Hannah), Elizabeth Christine Wentzell, Braxton David Medina Maddison Elizabeth Medina, and Cecilia Lou Mallette.

Funeral services for Clyde Freeman, 94, will be on January 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Harrell Phillips officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers to serve will be Joe Neisler, Brandon Mooney, Joe Mallette, Keith Hardee, Joe Vann, and Mark Welch.
