Paul was employed by Social Security Administration in Philadelphia as a Regional Manager and retired in 2010 after 50 years of government service. Paul was a basketball enthusiast. He was a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) for 34 years. During that time he was Cadet Supervisor and trained many people to be basketball referees, while also refereeing himself. In addition, Paul was a track official for a New Jersey track organization for 40 years. For many years, Paul was a member of the Woodcrest Swim Club, two of which he served as President.
Known to some as Hobart, Paul Armstrong was a devoted husband to Shirley for nearly 58 years. He was the proud father of Paul III (Hobie), Brad, Sibyl (Wende), and Chad. He was a grandfather to five and a friend to many.
We will remember Paul as a generous provider to his family and a mentor to those who wanted to learn. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched
