Born in Deep River on September 16, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Marvin E. and Otis Womble Smith. Ollie was a life - long resident of Lee county and a longtime member of the Congregational Christian Church.
Ollie was the wife of the late Atlas Cox for 68 years. She was the mother of Gene A. Cox, wife Martha of Greensboro, Joseph L. “Joey” Cox of Sanford, Janet McKay, husband Lonnie, and the late Joyce Hambright. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 18 great - grandchildren and 13 great - great - grandchildren. Ollie is preceded in death by her 8 brothers and sister.
