NORFOLK - Daniel LeRoy Thrasher, 62, member of the family that founded Greenbrier Farms, Inc., here, died at his home in Norfolk County Sunday at 2:40 a.m. after five years' illness.

Coming with his parents, Robert Earl and Dora Williams Thrasher, and six brothers from his native West Virginia in 1914, he was place in charge of if dynamiting and clearing the vast acreage that is now Greenbrier Farms. He was a native of Savannah, W. Va.

Later he was owner of a business, D. L. Thrasher Lumber Co. He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Emma Powell Thrasher; two sons, Robert Earl Thrasher and Daniel LeRoy Thrasher Jr., of Norfolk County; four brothers, Herbert M. Thrasher of East Palatka, Fla. and Allen S. Thrasher. R. Guy Thrasher and Samuel H. Thrasher of Norfolk County, and four grandchildren, Miss Catherine Ann Thrasher of Indianapolis and Caroline Thrasher, Daniel LeRoy III and Warren Lee Thrasher of Norfolk County.

A funeral service will be conducted will be a conducted in Cox Funeral Home Tuesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John Teier of Oaklette Methodist Church with burial in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will assemble at 3408 Seneca Ave., Oaklette.
