DECATUR — A Celebration of Life for Maurice Jervis “Moose” Jones, 95, will be Monday, December 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, Decatur, with Pastor Mickey Johnson officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.

Born in Decatur in October 1923, Mr. Jones passed away on November 16, 2018. A World War II veteran, Mr. Jones was an employee at Chemstrand, later Monsanto Corporation, a member of First Christian Church, and a local Civil War historian.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and daughters, Cynthia Jones (Gordon Ellis) and Theresa Jones (Scott Marshall).

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
