Miriam T. Lewis, loving wife of 67 years to the late Mr. James Byron Lewis Sr., entered into rest on Sunday, January 06, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at Harlem Baptist Church with Reverend Carson Britt officiating.
Burial will follow in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Durham, North Carolina to the late Lloyd and Avarie Teague.
She was a longtime resident of Harlem and owned an Azalea nursery called Lewis Nursery, with her husband James for 20 years. She was a member of Harlem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. Grandma Lewis was a cherished mother and grandmother who adored her family.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband James and her daughter, Avery Lynn Lewis.
Survivors include her two sons, Jimmie (Nancy) Lewis, Tim (Jeanne) Lewis, her grandchildren, Russ (Amber) Lewis, Randy (Stephanie) Lewis, Robert (Brandi) Lewis, Bob Hatcher, Hannah Lewis, Avery Lewis, and Josh (Ashley) Lewis; her great-grandchildren, Landen Lewis, Jaxon Lewis, Palmer Lewis, Tucker Lewis, and Sawyer Lewis and Charlotte Lewis; one brother, David Teague (Kay); and two sisters, Marietta Smith and Margaret Bolick (Neil).
