David first married Margaret Layton Saylors on December 30, 1839, in Ripley County, Indiana. Margaret was born in 1814 in Kentucky, the daughter of Jeremiah Saylors. David and Margaret had the following known children:

Margaret died in 1851 in Winterset, Madison County, Iowa. David then married Sarah Evans. Sarah was born March 11, 1826, in North Carolina, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Carver) Evans. David and Sarah had the following known children:

OBITUARY.
David Brinson was born in Ripley county, Indiana, April 25, 1819, and died at Nickerson, Kansas, July 11, 1919, aged 100 years, 2 months and 16 days.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Saylors in Indiana in 1838. To this union were born five daughters and one son. His wife died in Madison county, Iowa in 1851. Later he was married to Sarah Evans, who died in Nickerson July 28, 1894. To this union were born five children, three daughters and two sons.
Mr. Brinson was the father of eleven children, seven of these predeceased him. His descendants number 125. Of these 33 have predeceased him.
Brother Brinson has been a Christian for more than seventy-five years. While at intervals he was deprived of church privileges, he never failed to instruct his household in Christian faith. He was always a liberal giver to the cause of Christ. At the time the Christian Church was first built in Nickerson tho' about 82 years of age he assisted in the construction of it.
There are left to mourn his loss four daughters, Mrs. Sarah Blair of Nickerson, who has given him loving and tender care for many years and who will sadly miss him; Mrs. Jennie Wolf, and Mrs. Maggie Dill, of Lusk, Wyoming; Mrs. Ellen Blair, of Broken Bow, Nebr; sixteen grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 37 great great grandchildren, and many friends.
Relatives attending the funeral of Grandpa Brinson were Mrs.J G. Johnson and son Edwin of Baldwin, Ks., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Canning and bay of Pievna, Ks.
