Geno had been employed as crane man for more than 40 years with Allegheny Ludlum Steel, retiring in December 1987. He worked at his job like he wanted to be the best. Geno was a member of the former St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church in Leechburg and the current Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township. He was also a member of the VFW Post 330 in Leechburg and the Disabled American Veterans in Vandergrift. Survivors include eight nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Joseph and Charles Rivi; an infant sister, Lena Rivi; and two nieces.
Friends will be welcomed by his family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at CLAWSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg (724-842-1051). Parting prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B., officiating. Interment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Township.

Geno Rivi was the best, he was very generous and caring man.
I met Geno when I was 16 working at Ed Groves service station.
He taught me that a good work ethic was important.
If i created a list of people I most admire, Geno would top the list.
I will miss him dearly.

Geno Domenic Rivi, 92, of Leechburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in his residence.
A son of the late Charles Rivi and Lucy (Camisa) Rivi, he was born April 5, 1926 in Rimersburg, PA.
Geno was a 1944 graduate of Leechburg High School. He served in the U.S. Marines as a Corporal during World War II. Geno had been employed as crane-man for over 40 years with Allegheny Ludlum Steel retiring in December 1987. He worked at his job like he wanted to be the best.
