Stanley D. “Stan” King, 62, of Pana passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019. He was born October 31, 1956 in Olney, IL, son of James & Wanda Louise (Tipton) King.
Stan lived his entire life in Pana and was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1975. He was a member of the Millwright Union Local #1051 in Lincoln, IL and had worked for Beyers Construction, ADM & All-Tri-R. Stan loved sports, especially NASCAR and collecting the memorabilia. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals & Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.
Stan was a kind-hearted, generous man and loved his grandchildren dearly. He loved his chihuahua, Tae, and treated him like a baby.
Stan married Susan Slayback on June 30, 1978 in Pana and she survives along with children: Corey King, Pana, IL & Chase King (significant other, Kelly Adams), Pana, IL; step daughter, Robyn (Mike) Foster, Pana, IL; father, Jim King, Pana, IL; grandchildren: Jordan & Alexis King and Aleigha, Shakira & Ryker King; and siblings: Tina (Walter) Evans, Vandalia, IL & Jim King, Pana, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother on September 23, 2017.
Per Stan’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be held at a later date.
