JAY'S OBITUARY

Jay D. Williams, age 77, Seneca, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Mercy Hospital following a bout with cancer.

Jay was born July 7, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Marion Williams, Sr. and Lefa Busse Williams and had lived in the area most of his life.

Jay was an engineer for the City of Joplin for several years. He then worked in the explosives industry for over thirty years in sales and service.

Following retirement, Jay enjoyed his time by the water. He loved camping, boating and spending the winters in Harlingen, Texas. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Michael Williams, Joplin, Michele Fortner and husband, Chris, Cassville, Marc Williams and wife, Carol Beth, Benton, Arkansas; siblings, Marion Williams, Jr., Richard Williams, Margaret Chitwood; grandchildren, Nathan and wife, Emali, Parx, Eli, Ethan, Koen; one great grandson, Brenton; and many good friends, including Mary Martin, Ashland, Missouri.

In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl; and siblings, Jimmie Williams and Betty Madison.

Services are planned for Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Billy Friend will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
