ARCH L. HEADY FUNERAL HOME OBITUARY – 2019
Michael Wayne Hardy, 63, of Louisville passed away on Saturday January 5, 2019. He was born on June 1, 1955 in Louisville to the late Earl & Ruth (Mikesell) Hardy. He was a retired maintenance employee for Hazelwood Hospital and a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister. His enjoyment was playing Santa at Dixie Manor, Hazelwood Hospital, and private homes. To many he was truly Santa. He enjoyed giving just to see smiles on recipients faces. Many times he bought gift cards and gave money to those all while wanting to remain anonymous. He truly had a heart of gold. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister in-law, Tonie Hardy; and brother in-laws, Phil Hollabaugh and Joe Flanagan. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Lisa Smith (Scott), Debbie Hardy-Feldkamp (Chris), Mary Ann Lyons (Bobby), Carolyn Hollabaugh and Bernice Sachleben (Leroy); brothers, Leonard (Nancy), Bernard (Bonnie), and Roger Hardy; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion (Critty). A funeral Mass for Michael will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 So. 3rd St. with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the KY Humane Society or Pitt Academy.
