Robert was born on July 2, 1940 in Illiopolis, Illinois, to Glen and Mildred Pinkston and came to this area in 1998 from Springfield, Illinois. He was Valedictorian of the Class of 1958 at Raymond High School in Raymond, Illinois and also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Springfield College of Illinois. Robert retired from the State of Illinois, Vehicle Services Department as a Data Systems Consultant with 28 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the First Lutheran Church of Inverness, where he served in many ways behind the scenes. He was a collector of milk glass and was a member of the National Milk Glass Collector's Society. He enjoyed antiquing with his wife and fishing in Canada with his Father. He truly enjoyed being with his wife and sharing his life with her.
His survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara; one son, Robert Taylor Pinkston, Jr., Springfield, IL; 2 daughters: Elizabeth Costalles & husband William and Babette Hodge and husband Anthony, both of Springfield, IL; his Mother, Mildred Pinkston, Hillsboro, IL, one brother, Byron Gene Pinkston & wife Alice, Gillespie, IL, four sisters, Patricia Boehler, Texas, Glenda and husband Sonny Hohimer, Chatham, Illinois, Debbie and husband Jim Hawk, Litchfield, IL, Brenda and husband Terry Toldt, Raymond, IL, six grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Katie, Tiano, Maya and Alec. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Pinkston and two sisters, Marcia Daley and Sherry Smith.
