Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb 16 at the Fremont Methodist church at 2:00 pm for Francis A Rhoads, who passed away Tuesday. Rev Martin Greer will be in charge of the services, assisted by Rev J W Zerbe. Burial will be in Cedar Township Cemetery.

The son of Albert J and Susan Rhoads, Francis was born near Frankfort, IN Nov 27 1873. He spent most off his life around Fremont and was engaged in farming most of the time. He was married May 15, 1898 to Lena Mary Dinsmore who survives. He passed away Tuesday morning at the Mahaska hospital following a critical illness of a week, but he had been in failing health for about a year.

The body will b brought from the Community Funeral Home in Ottumwa to the residence Friday morning.

Survivors are his wife, 4 sons, Floyd and Raymond at home, Ward of Fremont and Lowell of Ottumwa; 6 daughters, Mrs Maurice Aldridge of Hedrick, Mrs Lucille Davis of Canon City, CO, Mrs Roy McBeth of Delta, Miss Edna Rhoads of Phoenix, AZ, Mrs Dale Roquet of Fremont and Mrs Ed Swanson of Highland Center; 2 brothers, WP Rhoads of Fremont and John Rhoads of Oregon, IL; 2 sisters, Mrs Irvin Knott of Fremont and Mrs Howard Clark of Burlington; 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
