Lee Andrew Owens, 89, longtime resident of Bryan, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 in College Station. Services are set for 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Galilee Baptist Church in Bryan. Visitation will be from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Jones & Washington Mortuary of Bryan.

Lee Owens was born April 11, 1928 in Gause, Texas, the first of five children born to Mr. Dusie Owens and Lee Edna (Bynum) Owens. Lee went to R. C. Neal, enjoyed playing football and loved working on cars with his father. Lee worked in construction. On January 24, 1948 he married Ocie Mae Thornton, theirs was a living testimony of how we should love each other. They attended Galilee Baptist Church. He was on the Deacons Committee and a faithful member for 70 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ocie Mae; four children, Alfreda, Ocie, Pamela and Gary; and a granddaughter, Melinda.

Survivors include a son, Charles Owens of Houston; daughter, Debra Owens of Bryan; special granddaughter, Debbie Creeks of College Station; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.

The family extends their thanks to the staffs of St. Joseph Regional Health Center and Accel College Station, for the love he received while in their care.
