Surviving her are two sons, Steve Bennett and his wife Jackie, of Kiawah Island, SC, Mike Bennett and his wife Tammy of King, NC, grandchildren Adam Bennett of Morganton, Josh and Joey Allen of King, great grandchildren Saylor and River Allen of King, brothers Charles Fisher and wife Janet and Jesse Fisher and his wife Jean, both of Morganton, twenty-two nieces and nephews and two special friends as close as her own family, Johnny and Cookie Beaver of Morganton.
In addition to raising her children and her tireless caring for her family members in their later years, Peggy enjoyed a full-time work career which began at a young age at Skyland Textiles in Morganton. She is probably best remembered by the Morganton community as the owner and operator of the Flip-in Market, one of Morganton’s very first convenience stores. Peggy ended her working career as a successful real estate agent at Tim Newton Coldwell Banker Real Estate. In her leisure, Peggy loved spending time with her family, reading, travel and the beauty of Morganton’s surrounding mountains.
The family will receive friends at Sossoman Funeral Home in Morganton Friday, January 4th from 11-12:30 with a memorial ceremony 12:30-1:00 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.
