Frederick "Fritz" Wegner

Manitowoc, Wisconsin - Frederick "Fritz" Wegner, age 91, a Manitowoc resident, passed away January 5, 2019 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on July 24, 1927 in Two Rivers, son of the late Fred and Edith (Koehler) Wegner. Fritz was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the Class of 1946. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1946 and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1948. On September 6, 1952 he married Marion Tomaschefsky at Immanuel Lutheran in Manitowoc, She preceded him in death on May 5, 2009. Fritz was a retail clerk at A&P Grocery store and later at Food Century, now known as Rob's until his retirement in 1993. He was a proud member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years.

Fritz is survived by one brother: John H. Wegner, Manitowoc; one sister: Joan I. Wegner, Manitowoc; three cousins: Marlene (Ed) Morley, Two Rivers, Sandra (Robert) Olson, Green Bay, Jean Scheer, Two Rivers. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son: James Wegner, 1965.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th Street), Manitowoc. Following services burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
