On April 28, 1981 Dale married his wife in Denison, Iowa. For twenty years Dale and his wife drove trucks together for Mau Trucking, Hewitt Trucking and most recently Godbersen Smith Construction Company. In earlier years Dale was employed at Rath Asphalt Company, hauled cattle and drove a taxi cab in Dodge City, Kansas and worked as a police officer in Lake View, IA. From 1973-1975 he served as Chief of Police for the city of Odebolt, IA.
Survivors include his wife, and six children and their spouses, and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and their wives, four aunts, and an uncle and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Asher and Gladys Bolles, paternal grandparent, Oath and Laura Newman and a nephew Rodney Newman.
