Graveside services for Joy Moore, 82, of Lamesa will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Steve McMeans officiating. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers 6025 82nd Street, Lubbock, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home of Lamesa and Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers of Lubbock. Joy departed Tuesday, October 10, 2017 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a woman of strong faith and dearly loved by those who knew her. She was born May 8, 1935 to W.A. "Mutt" and Marcella (Lambert) Britt. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1953, then attended Business College in Lubbock. She worked in bookkeeping and retail. In 1954 she married Dan Moore. They were married 63 years. They had three children, Barry, Ronnie, and Julie. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lamesa, where she was baptized. They moved to Lubbock in 1988, joining Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. She retired from the Lubbock County Courthouse in 2000. A statement she always made was "God has never let me down." Joy is survived by her son, Barry Moore; and daughter, Julie Owen and husband, Rodney all of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Danny Wade, Wendi and Steven Britt, Pierce and Piper Owen, Daniel and Desiree Moore; and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ray Britt; son Ronnie. To God be the Glory. Posted by Branon Funeral Home.
