Mr. James Edward "Pete" Holcombe, 81, of Union City passed away 8:22 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Henry Callison will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Monday.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.

Pete was born December 6, 1937, in Hickman, Kentucky, son of the late Hal and Lil Mae (Hudson) Holcombe. He married Linda (McCollum) Holcombe August 19, 1983. She survives. Pete retired from management with the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City after thirty years of service. After retirement Pete was a driver for the Northwest Tennessee Transit Authority for several years.Pete was past president of the Hickman Country Club, was an avid golfer, was an avid Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of First Christian Church in Hickman, Kentucky.

He is also survived by two daughters, Debbie Holcombe Mudd of Hickman, Kentucky and Dana Holcombe Swearingen of South Fulton; two stepsons, John Anthony Choate and Eric Lynn Choate both of Union City; six grandchildren, Alex Mudd of Hickman, Kentucky, Ashley Mudd Dillahunty of Huntingdon, Lauren Swearingen of South Fulton, Lisa McManis of Halls, Hunter Caleb Choate of Martin and Liah Simone Choate of Union City; and four great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Holcombe Forsythe and Margie Holcombe Tyner; and one brother, Hal Holcombe, Jr.
