Daniel G. Ramsey, 80, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at his residence.

He was born January 2, 1939, the son of Glen and Audrey(Booher)Ramsey, and step-son of Vivian. Dan married Violet Linville an April 18, 1965.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; his sons, Daniel G.(Neva)Ramsey,Jr. of Manilla, Kenneth E. Ramsey of Shelbyville, and Dennis L. Ramsey and husband, Paul, of Solsberry; sister, Sue Jane(Lee)Colquitt of Michigan; step-brother, Eric(Gayle) Pierson of Greenfield; step-sister, Margo(Jim)Repar of Greenfield; and grandchildren, Morgan and Gregory Ramsey of Manilla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother; and brother, David.

Dan attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1957.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Dan was a self- employed farmer, and then was employed with Johnson Trucking for 24 years.

In retirement, Dan and family owned a multitude of antique tractors and implements. He was a longstanding member of the Pioneer Engineers Club of Indiana and was always sure to attend the annual show held in Rush County. He loved to tell people about his Model T tractor and the family history behind the tractors, but Dan especially loved driving his Model A truck through the streets of Shelbyville on a nice sunny day. He also enjoyed his coffee meetings with his two friends, Bruce and Larry.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated bt Pastor Mike Linville.

Burial will be at the Little Blue River Friends Church Cemetery.
