August 20, 1999 - November 29, 2018 Nora James Rose-Hines, known to her friends simply as Nora James, has died at the age of nineteen due to injuries from a car collision. Nora was a freshman in the UCLA TFT Musical Theatre Program. She performed often at the NoHo Arts Center in North Hollywood, most notably creating the role of Eve Christmas in the acclaimed Christmas musical, "Yo Ho Ho! A Pirate's Christmas." Nora is survived by her twin brother, William, her fathers James Mellon and Kevin Bailey and her mothers Pat Hines and Margot Rose. Nora was a soloist each Sunday morning at the Global Truth Center in Westlake Village. She was an avid singer and songwriter, played a fierce guitar and a mean piano. A true theatrical "triple threat," Nora spent a year in Debbie Allen's RISE theatre program. She took dance at Liv'art and Millennium studios and studied the Meisner Technique of acting with Elizabeth Mestnik. For the past two summers, Nora spent time working with the children of Casa Guatemala in Rio Dulce, Guatemala, and was planning to return this summer teaching music and dance. Nora loved the outdoors including kayaking, scuba diving and snowboarding, and worked for Safe Moves teaching child traffic safety.A "Celebration of Life" will be held in her honor on Saturday, December 22nd at 11:00 am, at the Global Truth Center, 880 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village, CA 91361. Donations can be made in her name to "Nora's Teen Camp Fund." All proceeds will go to support teens pursuing the arts, teen camps and to supporting those working with the children at Casa Guatemala. Donations can be sent to the Global Truth Center or online at: www.globaltruthcenter.org (click on donate and then on Nora's fund in the dropdown menu). To know Nora was to love her unconditionally. She spread her unbridled energy and her love for life everywhere she went. She loved working with children and was passionate for every aspect of the theatre experience. Her light and her beautiful consciousness will live on in everyone she touched.
