Ralph Lewis Guthrie, 86, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Lakewood Assisted Living. Born November 15, 1932, in Rochester, MI, he was the son of the late Frank Walker and Alice Athella Taylor Guthrie.

A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Guthrie was a Tool Design Engineer with National Twist Drill and Tool Company. He loved to ski, ski jump, sing, dance, and golf. Mr. Guthrie was a member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Rochester, MI.

Survivors include his children, Rhonda Lou Turner of Eden, NC, Heidi Guthrie Hubacker (Frederick Jr.) of Troy, MI, Walker Lewis Guthrie of Westminster, CO and Scott Elliott Guthrie (Cindi) of Inman, SC; grandson, Frederick Hubacker III of Troy, MI; and sisters, Jean Starnes of Glendale, AZ, Janice Frank of Rochester, MI, and Margaret Haynack of Thompson Falls, MT. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Beasley; and brothers, Frank Guthrie and Dan Guthrie.

Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Friday, January 11, 2019, at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM conducted by the Rev. Rex Keaton. Burial, with military rites, will be at 3:00 PM in M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr., Anderson, SC 29621.
