(1921 - 2018)

Two Rivers - Robert (Bob) Beitzel passed away peacefully at Atrium Senior Living at Northland Lodge on March 18, 2018 at the age of 96. He had resided there for the past five years.

Bob was born on Oct. 26, 1921 to Ben and Bertha (Wier) Beitzel. He attended St. Luke Grade School and was a graduate of Washington High School. He spent his entire working life at the Hamilton Mfg. Co with the exception of his time in the US Army during World War II (European Theatre). He was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation and a Bronze Star.

He married Mary Ann Schultz on May 29, 1943 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Mary Ann preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 1994. Bob and Mary Ann were charter members of Holy Redeemer Parish and both were active in various activities there as well as at Roncalli High School. They were readily available to help friends, relatives, and neighbors - that's just the way they lived their lives.

Surviving Bob are his son, Lee (Jill) and family, Jeremiah (Jacque) and Jessie (Dennis); his daughter, Nancy (Dick) and family, Mark (Hyun Jung) and their children, Hana and Isaak and Lianne (Dave) and their children, Sophie and Charlotte. He is further survived by his brother, Roland (Gloria) and generations of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and their wives: Pete (Esther), Frank (Leona), Harold (Lillian), Archie (Emma) and Claude; his sisters and their husbands: Gertrude (Stan) Whitman, Helen (Earl) Kuffel, Gen (Louie) Melchoir, Delores (John) Hoffman, Sally (Karl) Oestreich, Norma (Ken) Lesperance, and Catherine (Russell) Shambeau. Preceding him also were Mary Ann's family: her parents, Bill and Mamie (Bartelme) Schultz and her siblings Zeno (Zella), Fritz (Olive), Joe (Mary), Francis (Mary), and Betty (Floyd) Bauknecht. Several nieces, nephews and many, many, friends also went before him.

We will remember Dad for his easy-going nature and the ability to accept tough things thrown at him (a brain tumor at age 49 and becoming one of the original "house husbands", living without Mom for over 23 years, and finally moving out of his home at age 91).

Bob's family would like to thank Dr. Robert Gahl, all the staff at Northland Lodge, and Heartland Hospice for their amazing care. We are extremely grateful to all of you.

Contributions may be made in Bob's name to St. Peter the Fisherman, Roncalli Athletics or a .
