Leona Oma Parker was born on September 2, 1935, in Jackson County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Claborn and Laura Price Hundley. She was united in marriage to Aaron Parker, who preceded her in death. She is survived by six children, Teresa Gibson, Mary, Jerry and Larry Dale Parker, all of East Bernstadt, and David and Gary Parker of London, one brother of Sherman “Hearl” Hundley of Arizona, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by nine siblings, Beatrice Parker, Bertha Cunnigan, Albert, Arnold, Lula, Minnie, George and Ethel Hundley and Elva Parker.
She was a homemaker and a member of Harvest Time Pentecostal Church.
Leona Oma Parker departed this life at The Heritage Nursing Home in Corbin on Thursday, January 3, 2019, being 83 years, 4 month and 1 day of age.
Funeral services for Leona Oma Parker will be conducted at 12 Noon Monday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Mullins and Rev. Anthony Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at East Bernstadt.
