Colonel Robert G. Morrison, born in Wheelock Hollow, Caledonia County, Vermont, Janruary 6, 1838. He enlisted September 16, 1861 at Anderson, Indiana when he was twenty years old. The gallant conduct of the young soldier speedily raised him from one rank to another.
He had command of his regiment for two and one half years. He mustered out of service at Brownsville, Texas, February 3, 1866.
October 12, 1886, Colonel Morrison made his home in St. Johns. He was married to Miss Elma E. Selleck in 1881.
